Mobiliar Arena is a ball sports hall in Gümligen (Bern) and was completed in August 2018. The hall has a spectator capacity of approx. 2,400 standing and seated places and was built according to the MINERGIE standard.
At the beginning of the cooperation, the management of Mobiliar Arena wanted to get an understanding of how good the air quality in the hall is and to what extent optimizations in the operation are possible. With the help of the Frischluftmanager, the complexity around the ventilation system should be simplified on the operator side and filter loading and air quality should be made visible.
Due to the irregular utilization of the hall from event and non-event days, the planned hall occupancy changes continuously, so that the original ventilation plan no longer met the current requirements.
The results of the first steps can be seen after only a few months. With our partner qlair, the Frischluftmanager has already been able to reduce operating costs by over 20%, which amounts to an energy saving for ventilation of over 1,500 kWh per month compared to the previous year.
At the same time, better indoor air quality was generated and the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of the filters used was optimized, as a new automated maintenance schedule was established and the use of an energy- and air quality-optimized filter class was implemented.
Thanks to the future automatic filter ordering and the interaction of the various parties in the Frischluftmanager, the complexity for the hall operator could be significantly reduced.
