The Frischluftmanager ensures clean air at the world championships in sport climbing
From August 1 to 12, 2023, the World Championships in Sport Climbing will be held in Bern. The best boulderers, lead climbers and speed climbers in the world compete in the PostFinance Arena. At the same time, the qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is at stake.
The Frischluftmanager ensures clean air – as Manager of Clean Air for athletes and spectators at the competitions, we always keep an eye on the air quality and support the hall operators in realizing Eiger North Face air quality on the competition walls as well.
See for yourself in the live stream if the coast is clear in the hall. ;-)

Clean air in climbing and bouldering gyms
Did you know that total particle concentrations (PM1, PM2.5, and PM10) in climbing and bouldering gyms can rise to 2,000 micrograms/m or more at peak times? This correspond to a dust-laden industrial hall.
Did you know that magnesia powder not only increases the concentration of fine dust in indoor air, but also binds water – this leads to increased dry mouth and eye irritation.
Not ideal conditions for indoor climbing and especially for the employees who spend all day in the hall.
How can climbing and bouldering gyms meet these challenges, improve indoor air with low energy and cost, and ensure clean air for their customers and employees?
Example of live data during the event
The fresh air manager from actoVent
With the Frischluftmanager, three simple steps to permanently clean air:
- Measurement of the current air quality and fine dust pollution
- If required, optimization of existing ventilation or installation of mobile ventilation unit.
- Automation and visualization of air quality
With our partner Airthings for Business we measure your current air quality quickly and without complex installations. Fine dust (PM1, PM2.5), CO2, temperature or humidity – the sensors can be mounted directly on or next to the climbing wall without wiring. The data is sent directly to the Fresh Air Manager via the supplied hub.
The next step is to help you find the right solution for your environment. From manual ventilation plans (opening windows) to professional ventilation systems – our network of service providers and maintenance companies enables us to provide vendor-neutral advice.
Simply clean air!
